Run Your Own Elections!

A few days ago, I made a rather clandestine site update, and actually added the first piece of content to the Products page here at 3stylelife.

If you go over there, you’ll find a zip-file containing 7 Mathematica programs which I’m currently using in my research. The programs all run random elections and then compute various things about them.

Currently, you can do the following things:

  • Look at random preferential ballots.
  • Look at the margin of victory matrix of an election.
  • Compute the average Copeland score of an election.
  • Compute the average Copeland score of the Borda Count winner.
  • Compute the frequency of having a Condorcet winner.
  • Compute the frequency the Borda Count selects a Condorcet winner.

Let me know if you have any suggestions, either for new programs, or for improving the efficiency of these ones. Feel free to run some data and let me know the results too (haha).
